 My name is Shaun Kennedy BSc (hons) I have been playing guitar for 20 years and have been teaching for 10. In 2007 I set up my own business “Freds Frets” to enable me to turn my hobby of playing guitar into a profession. I am passionate about playing and love passing this onto my pupils.My other passion is Music production via midi. I produce Electronic Music (including hip-hop, drum n bass and… techno). I also DJ under the name of DJ Eskay and have done many live performances with this. I have worked with professional artists in the past, producing music and writing albums. With the Guitar I teach at a range of levels, both academic and personal. I also try to focus on the style of playing that is more suitable for each individual, sometimes this may include scales, chords, modes, notes, intervals, rhythms etc. Or perhaps learning one of your favourite songs!
I believe it is also necessary to teach a range of playing to get the best experience of being a guitarist, perhaps this may be through an amplifier with an electric guitar, an acoustic, semi and electro. Using plectrums or fingers also. I have gained much experience on teaching a wide range of people, in schools and in their own homes – no age or level barred. I have played many live performances, both solo and with a band at a varied range of venues, and could give advice on performing live. (I could also supply PA equipment at additional cost) I offer advice on maintaining a healthy guitar and can also provide a professional guitar set-up and re-string at an additional cost. Other than Producing my own music and playing and teaching Guitar I have reciently began providing my services along with my musically trained collegues to social events. We have recently performed at several weddings, doing covers of requested songs. I teach guitar in Durham area in your own home.
